About Time Bending

Most of our lives we experience time as something relatively predictable – something that can be measured precisely and has only one direction. This notion was been and still is challenged in the cinematic universe, were from the earliest days on, experiments were conducted to stop, reverse or bend time in the most fantastic ways. Effects like time-lapse or high-speed film have been part of film histories standard repertoire, but still there is a certain magic about them. In this workshop we want to introduce some methods and concepts of time bending and explore their sometimes quite surprising effects. The workshop is planned in such a way that theoretical units and practical exercises alternate.
